Twyn yr Hydd
Step back in time and experience the wonder of Twyn yr Hydd. This beautiful Grade II listed building is full of mystery and charm, set within the grounds of Margam Country Park.
Built in 1892 for Emily Charlotte Talbot's land agent, Mr Edward Knox, soon after Emily had inherited Margam in 1890. It is a substantial, L-shaped, two-storey stone house with mullioned and transom windows, pitched stone roofs and clustered chimneys.
The house is set within the 1,000 acres of parkland and forestry and enjoys outstanding views over the park and Swansea Bay. We have herds of deer roaming the park and they can often be seen in the surrounding fields.
Twyn yr Hydd has recently been renovated to the highest standard bringing the house back to life with a warm Victorian ambience. Enjoy the highest quality wedding facilities in this superb environment.
The gardens are spectacular and we encourage everyone to experience the joys they have to offer including the walled garden designed by the late Queen Mother's favourite designer, Mr Ralph Hancock.
